Looking For Evidence Of The Flow Of Grant Money To KONI East Java Is The Reason For The KPK To Search La Nyalla's House

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) revealed a search at the house of former Chairman of the DPD RI La Nyalla Mattalitti regarding bribes in the management of grant funds for community groups (Pokmas) from the East Java Provincial Budget (Jatim) for the 2021-2022 Fiscal Year. It is suspected that money has flowed to the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI) East Java.

La Nyalla is known to have served as Deputy Chairman of the East Java KONI in 2010-2019. Then this DPD member became Chairman of the East Java KONI Board of Persons.

"(The search was carried out, ed) related to the investigation of the grant fund case, at the time the person concerned was Deputy Chairman of KONI," said Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Fitroh Rohcahyanto in a written statement, Wednesday, April 16.

The anti-corruption commission investigators searched La Nyalla's house in Surabaya, East Java on Monday, April 14. Then, the East Java KONI office was also searched the day after or Tuesday, April 15.

Regarding the results of this search, KPK spokesman Tessa Mahardhika has not yet conveyed further information. This is because this forced effort has not yet been completed.

"Detail further explanation will be delivered after the entire series of search activities have been completed," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, April 15.

Previously reported, the KPK has named 21 new suspects in the alleged bribery of grant funds for community groups or pokmas from the East Java Provincial Budget for the 2019-2022 Fiscal Year. This effort is the development of the case that ensnared the former Deputy Chairperson of the East Java DPRD, Sahat Tua P. Simanjuntak.

Investigators in this case have searched the office of the East Java Provincial Government (Jatim) some time ago. As a result, documents and electronic goods have been confiscated regarding the alleged bribery case of grant funds.

Then, investigators also searched the house of former PDTT Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar on Friday, September 6, 2024. Investigators at that time then cash and several other evidences, such as documents and electronic evidence.

However, it did not specify how much was obtained from Abdul Halim's house in the South Jakarta area.
