Wants To Remove Donald Trump's Cameo At Home Alone 2, Director Afraid Of Deportation
JAKARTA - Home Alone 2 film director Chris Columbus opened his voice about Donald Trump's special appearance in the sequel film. He felt the appearance was a curse for his career.
In his latest interview with San Francisco CHronicle, Columbus said, '( Trump's appearance) is a curse. This is a burden for me. I hope this can be removed.'
Furthermore, on the other hand, he was worried because if he deleted the appearance, he could be deported and transferred from the United States.
"I can't cut it. If I delete it, I might be deported," he said.
"I can be considered unfit to live in the United States, so I have to go back to Italy or something else," said Columbus.
Donald Trump made a special appearance in the film Home Alone 2 which tells of Kevin McCallister (played by Macaulay Culkin) who accidentally makes a flight to New York instead of Miami which is his family vacation spot.
Kevin, who got lost in New York, entered the Plaza Hotel and met Donald Trump. At that time, Trump was the owner of the Plaza Hotel.

In 2020, Columbus revealed that Trump asked himself to enter the scene in the film which was taken at his hotel.
"We paid the rent but he also said, 'The only way you can use Plaza is if I'm in a movie' so we agreed to put it in a movie," said Chris Columbus.
When we screened for the first time, the strange thing was everyone cheered when Trump's scene appeared so I told the editor, 'Let it go. Moment for the audience.' he explained.
Several years later, fans of the film asked for Trump's scene to be removed and even the main character, Macaulay Culkin, opened up with a petition to remove the scene.
In 2023, Donald Trump said it was Columbus who asked him to appear in the sequel to Home Alone.
"I was very busy and didn't want to (film) and they were friendly but consistent so I agreed and the rest was history. Small Cameos are like rockets and the films are successful, especially during the Christmas season. People always call me when it airs. Now, 30 years later, Columbus (is that really a name?) said that I asked for it, "wrote Donald Trump.
The 'Cameo' helped the film to be a success... yes, only Hollywood men took into account the past for Trump's publicity for himself," he said.
