The National Police Raises The Rank Of Three Police Officers Who Die In Contact With The Papuan KKB
JAKARTA - The National Police gave awards to three of its members who died in a shootout with an armed criminal group (KKB) in Makki Village, North Ilaga District, Puncak Regency, Papua.
National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the three Polri members included Ipda Anton Tonapa, Bripka M. Syaifudin, and Bharada Komang. The three received extraordinary promotions.
"We from the National Police institution give the highest appreciation to the deceased (Bharada Komang) and give extraordinary promotions with posthumous titles", Listyo Sigit told reporters, Wednesday, April 28.
In addition, General Sigit said, the National Police would also give gifts in the form of money to the families left behind. The goal is to help lighten the burden on the family.
"Of course we have thought about the rights and allowances that we need to prepare. Because we also want all members on duty to be truly our responsibility, the responsibility of the institution, either the person concerned or the family left behind", explained Sigit.
The promotion award was also given to Ipda Anton Tonapa, Bripka M. Syaifudin. The three of them were willing to make sacrifices to eradicate the KKB from the land of Papua even though they were shot.
"We, as the head of the National Police, also gave rewards to the 2 soldiers, namely an extraordinary promotion and the opportunity to take part in educational priorities", said Sigit.
Previously, three members of Brimob were victims during a shootout between the TNI-Police joint team and the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) in Ilaga, Puncak, Papua. Two of them managed to survive because they were only shot in the stomach and back.
"There were three victims. Two survived and one (Bharada Komang) died", said Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Mustofa Kamal, to VOI, Tuesday, April 27.
Two injured victims namely Ipda Anton Tonapa and Bripka M. Syaifudin. Meanwhile, the victim who died was Bharada Komang.
They were involved in a shootout with the KKB led by Lekagak Telenggen at Lumawi Headquarters, Makki Village, Ilaga Utara District, Puncak Regency.
"For Ipda Anton Tonapa was hit by a gunshot in the upper back, Bripka M. Syaifudin was hit in the stomach", said Kamal.
