Menkum Soal RUU Perampasan Asset: Ini Menyangkut Soal Poltik

JAKARTA - Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas said that the discussion on the Asset Confiscation Bill (RUU) was closely related to politics.

The statement was made when discussing the latest developments in the Asset Confiscation Bill which has not been discussed or stagnated.

"The bill has been submitted to the DPR. So, it's just like what I always said yesterday that this concerns politics," Supratman told reporters, Tuesday, April 15.

Therefore, the government must communicate more deeply to political parties related to the discussion of the Asset Confiscation Bill.

"This requires serious communication with all political forces, in this case political parties, to be carried out, especially from the government, will do that," he said.

Despite this political element, Supratman emphasized that the government would immediately re-submit it in the revision of the national legislation program (Prolegnas).

This is because the government will remain committed to encouraging the bill. However, the authority to form is in the DPR.

"So it's a concern from the government. But a little because the legislators are DDR, then of course it is our obligation to communicate with friends in parliament," Supratman said.
