Jokowi Appoints Bahlil To Be Minister Of Investment, DPR: There Are Some Parties Who Prefer To Be Like M. Lutfi
JAKARTA - The Palace will hold a limited reshuffle this afternoon. President Jokowi will inaugurate the leadership of two new ministries, namely the Minister of Investment and the Minister of Education and Culture-Technology Research this afternoon. It is rumored that the position of the Minister of Investment will certainly be held by Bahlil Lahadalia.
Although the figure of Bahlil is predicted to become the Minister of Investment, in the DPR, especially Commission VI, there are some parties who want this ministry to be filled by a figure with an international network, such as the figure of the Minister of Trade Muhammad Lutfi.
"Only some people want the position of the Ministry of Investment to be filled by people who have a wider international network, such as the current position of the Ministry of Trade, Mr. M. Lutfi. There are voices like that," said Commission VI member Amin AK, to VOI, Wednesday, April 28.
Amin hopes that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will choose the right person with a professional approach rather than a political approach to become Minister of Investment. Moreover, this figure will later become a working partner of Commission VI.
"This means that the people chosen are truly competent, have a wide network and are ready to work for the interests of the people at large," he said.
As previously reported, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is certain to reshuffle the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet today, Wednesday, April 28.
The plan is for Bahlil Lahadalia to become Minister of Investment and Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture-Research and Technology. In addition, Jokowi will also inaugurate the Head of the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN).
The Chief Expert of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Ali Mochtar Ngabalin, again said that in the near future, President Jokowi will announce a cabinet reshuffle.
"I always say it's not long, because Mr. Joko Widodo's leadership character in responding to this is always fast, and thank God it's right," said Ngabalin, Tuesday, April 27.
Again, according to him, there will be a new minister who will be appointed by President Jokowi. However, he did not yet know the name of the ministerial candidate.
He only revealed that the reshuffle announcement would be made if the nomenclature for merging the new ministries had been completed. He said the DPR had sent a letter regarding the merger of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology as well as the establishment of the investment ministry to the government from last week.
"We are discussing these two points. The President will definitely appoint a minister, because the nomenclature has changed, so that there will be ministers who will be inaugurated, namely education and culture and technology," he said.
"Likewise, there is a new minister who is inaugurated, his name is the investment minister, maybe also the Head of the National Research Agency," continued Ngabalin.
Previously, the DPR submitted a letter of approval for the merger of the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) with the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek), as well as the formation of the Ministry of Investment to the government.
