Stellantis Affirms Not Selling Maserati Brands Even Though Sales Continue To Drop

JAKARTA - Maserati has experienced an unfavorable sales trend in recent times. In the first quarter of this year, the Italian brand only received 1,700 units of purchases globally, down by 48 percent.

As an illustration, the manufacturer with the 'Trisula' logo received sales of 3,300 units in the first three months of last year.

This torehan led Stellantis to take other steps by renting a consulting firm for McKinsey management to provide input for Maserati and Alfa Romeo brands, including various possibilities when the United States (US) tariff was implemented which would complicate the condition of the manufacturer.

Of course this raises speculation whether the Maserati brand will soon be sold by Stellantis in the future. How will the company respond?

Maserati CEO, Santo Ficili said Stellantis remains committed to the two brands and has no plans to sell them to other owners.

"Stellantis has expressed its commitment to Italy, its workers, and all of its brands, including Maserati," Ficili was quoted as saying by Reuters on Tuesday, April 15.

The statement is a reply to an open letter from the head of the Uilm Workers Union, Badminton Silombella, asking for guarantees regarding the brand's future.

Ficili also emphasized that the US state remains a strategic market for Maserati, despite global tariffs and trends experiencing uncertainty that affects the transition of the auto industry to electrification.

"The United States remains a strategic market for Maserati," added Ficili.

In addition, Stellantis will take steps to review Maserati's business plans after being postponed last year, improving dealer network relations, and cutting production costs and developing new cars.

Currently, the manufacturer with the trisula' logo has the GranTurismo, GranCabrio, Crecale, and MC20 lines. Previously, Maserati planned to launch the MC20 Folgore or EV version of its sports car. Unfortunately, the launch had to be canceled due to reduced enthusiasts in this car.
