PDIP Politicians Ask Jokowi Not To Reshuffle Now, Momentum Is Not Right For After Eid
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is confirmed to reshuffle the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet today, Wednesday, April 28.
Responding to this, PDIP politician Hendrawan Supratikno emphasized that the timing of the reshuffle was the president's right.
"That is the prerogative of the President, so we respect the exercise of this right," Hendrawan told VOI, Wednesday, April 28.
Including he said, the mechanism, who and how many ministers will be overhauled in his cabinet. "How will the reshuffle be carried out, how many times, how much change is there, we'll just wait," said the member of Commission XI DPR.
In line with his party colleagues, member Darmadi Durianto submitted the decision on the reshuffle to the President as the head of the state.
The DPR Commission VI member hopes that whoever the minister appointed by Jokowi must be able to solve economic problems, especially in the midst of a pandemic like today. Especially the investment minister.
"Because the performance of the ministers is measured by the president, of course the DPR Commission VI hopes that the ministers who are partners of commission VI must have high competence. Have a high commitment to solve economic problems," said Darmadi.
However, according to Darmadi, the current momentum for a cabinet reshuffle is not appropriate considering that the majority of Indonesians are fasting during Ramadan.
"In my opinion, now is the moment if the reshuffle is not right. Because of fasting, it is better if the reshuffle is finished after Eid," suggested the DKI Jakarta legislator.
Darmadi assessed that, rather than reshuffling, it is done twice as well so that it is effective. This is because, according to the news, President Jokowi only announced two ministers this afternoon and the rest of the ministers will be reshuffled after the Idul Fitri holiday.
"Because this is the fasting period of Eid, preparations for Eid. This must be effective so that the goods do not increase and the distribution runs smoothly. So it is better to postpone it, but it depends on how the president sees it," Darmadi said.
"But yes, it means that twice the people's energy is focused there (reshuffle, red). What is important is how the people's energy is focused, how to handle the pandemic, fear that the ministers are afraid to have their thoughts reshuffled or not," he added.
In this reshuffle, the plan is for Bahlil Lahadalia to become Minister of Investment and Nadiem Makarim as Minister of Education and Culture-Research and Technology. In addition, Jokowi will also inaugurate the Head of the National Innovation Research Agency (BRIN).
According to VOI sources, the position of BRIN will be occupied by Laksana Tri Handoko, who is currently the Chair of the Indonesian Institute of Sciences.
"Yes," said a source in court circles confirming Laksana Tri Handoko's new position when he was confirmed, Tuesday, April 27.
