Police Examine 17 Witnesses Investigate PPDS Unpad Doctor Rape Of Patient Family, Including 8 From Hospital

JABAR - The police have examined 17 witnesses in the alleged rape case at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung by the suspect, the resident doctor with the initials PAP. Those examined were eight of them from the hospital.

The suspect, a PAP doctor who participated in the Specialist Doctors Education Program (PPDS) at Padjadjaran University (Unpad), is suspected of raping the patient's family.

"The witness was examined by 17 (people). There were new victims, then the victim's family (also questioned)," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the West Java Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Surawan in Bandung, Monday, April 14, as reported by Antara.

Surawan explained that the witnesses from the hospital were doctors who were around the PAP suspect while on duty.

The examination was carried out to gather information about the supervision of the suspect's activities as a resident doctor.

"The doctor who was with him, then the same person handled the patient. Then also the doctor who was on duty that night, the person in charge in the building too," he said.

He added that the investigation into the alleged rape case was still ongoing, including the possibility of negligence from the hospital. However, until now the police have not found a criminal element in terms of supervision.

"The name PPDS doctor is an attached doctor, not a doctor who takes his own actions easily. If there are actions such as surgery, he will follow directions from an expert doctor who will take action or be in charge there, right," he said.

Previously, the PPDS Unpad participant doctor with the initials PAP was named a suspect in the rape case of three victims, including two patients and one patient's family.

The depraved act was carried out when the victim was unconscious after being locked up in the action room at the MCHC Building at Hasan Sadikin Hospital, Bandung.
