Minister Of P2MI Says There Are 1.7 Million Job Vacancies Abroad
JAKARTA - Minister of Protection for Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) Abdul Kadir Karding said that there were around 1.7 million job vacancies abroad, but only 297 thousand could fulfill.
"For that, I encourage the Magelang Regent to take this opportunity. We propose to at least, there are those who focus on managing migrant workers and their local regulations. We encourage them to place educated, skilled workers," said Karding in Magelang, Central Java as reported by ANTARA, Sunday.
He conveyed this after meeting with the Regent of Magelang Grengseng Pamuji at the Magelang Regent's Office House.
"The consequence is that we have to prepare training and financing. I imagine that every training in the village is then taken by two workers, then from 372 villages there will be 700 workers. If there are four batches, we can take 2,800 workers in a year," he said.
