Sheila Majid's Meeting With Tohpati And Andien In Golo Mori

JAKARTA - Sheila Majid and Andien appeared with the accompaniment of Tohpati Orchestra at the inaugural International Golo Mori Jazz (IGMJ) 2025 which took place at the Golo Mori Convention Center, West Manggarai, East Nusa Tenggara on Saturday, April 12.

After the show was over, Tohpati and Andien came to Sheila Majid's waiting room. They looked satisfied with the appearance which finally went well.

Sheila said, Tohpati and Andien were two musicians she had known for a long time, even since the two musicians were very young.

Talking about Tohpati, Sheila said the introduction between the two had taken place in the early 1990s. At that time, Tohpati was a guitarist who Erwin Gutawa was often brought to the orchestra he led.

"I've known Tohpati from the 1990s, at that time he played a lot with Erwin Gutawa, and if I perform in Jakarta and so on, Erwin always accompanies him, so Tohpati is there as a guitarist," Sheila said when met backstage after the show.

The 60-year-old singer also said that the guitarist who is often called Bontot has developed much and is good compared to the past.

"And in 2016, Tohpati was the producer for my album, 'Boneka', and I've had a concert with him in Jakarta, 2016," said the diva.

So, cooperation between us is easy, because he already knows my songs and abilities. So, now I often use him, because the training is easy," he continued.

Compared to Tohpati, Sheila is not very close to Andien, even though the experience of undergoing a masterclass together makes the two of them already know each other.

"With Andien, I know when we were together for a master class in Bali in 2015. But even before that I already knew him, it was only the five-day master class time in Bali that we became close," he said.

Meanwhile, Sheila Majid, Andien and Tohpati performed the song He simultaneously. In addition, two different generations of female singers also performed each other by performing their best songs.
