National Electricity Peak Burden During Eid Al-Fitr Reaches 44,639

JAKARTA - The National Command Post for the ESDM Sector for the Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 2025 periods noted that the national electricity peak load reached 44,639 MW.

Head of BPH Migas, Erika Retnowati who was also appointed as Chair of the Command Post, said this figure was up 3.6 percent compared to the previous year.

"Meanwhile, the supply capacity reaches 56,119 MW, an increase of 6.6 percent from 2024," said Erika, quoted on Saturday, April 12.

Erika said this resulted in a power reserve of 11,480 MW or 25.72 percent.

Erika also highlighted a significant increase in the use of electric vehicles (EVs) during this year's homecoming season.

"It was recorded that 19,852 electric cars were used nationally, a sharp increase of 460 percent compared to last year's 4,314 units. The highest use occurred in DKI Jakarta, while the lowest was recorded in Bengkulu, Gorontalo, and North Maluku," he said.

Meanwhile, Pertamina Patra Niaga's Director of Engineering and Land Infrastructure, Eduward Adolf Kawi, added that the comparison of consumption of several types of fuel between last year and 2024 this year.

Consumption for gasoil, diesel and its derivatives, the realization in 2024 was 40,155 liters, this year it fell to 38,757 liters.

Then for kerosine, for Eastern Indonesia, the realization in 2024 is 1,389 kiloliters (KL), and this year it has decreased slightly to 1,366 KL per day.

For LPG, the increase is different from the fuel one. This year, LPG consumption increased by 4.2 percent, which consists of BBM Public Service Obligations (PSO) and non-PSO.

As for Avtur, nationally it will decrease, in 2024 it will be 12,501 KL per day, in 2025 it will decrease to 12,160 KL per day.
