136 Starters Start Competing At The MRS Mandalika Circuit
CENTRAL LOMBOK - A total of 136 starters have started competing in the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series (MRS) Pertamina Motorcycle Racing Championship at the Mandalika Circuit, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) for the first round of 12-13 April 2025.
"136 starters have prepared to feel the heat of competition at the highest level of the national championship (national championship) for motorcycle racing as well as the opening event for this year's national championship in Indonesia," said MGPA President Director Priandi Satria as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, April 12.
Pertamina's participation as the main sponsor in the Mandalika Racing Series 2025 also showed its support for the potential and achievements of Indonesian racers.
"Not only through national racing competitions, but Pertamina also has a comprehensive coaching program through collaboration with leading racing schools, VR46 Riders Academy," he said.
He said Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series 2025 National Championship participants had started the session since Thursday, April 10, 2025, with a photo session followed by a track familiarization of the secret riders briefing.
Track Familiarization is the introduction of circuits by racers on foot to learn more in detail.
In addition to being important for racers before the race, this is coupled with several changes in the exit T1, T5, T10 and T13 areas in the run-off section at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit.
"The Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series 2025 will compete in four National Championship classes, namely Sport 250, Sport 150, Junior Sport 150 U-15, Supersport 600 and Supporting Class Underbone 150 U-25, 250 Community, Supersport and Superbike Community," he said.
This championship is the result of collaboration between Pride Motorsport with MGPA, IMI and ITDC to receive full support from Pertamina and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Indonesia.
He said the continuity of the Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series 2025 could not be separated from the support of stakeholders in the province of NTB because it had proven to have a positive impact, especially in the economic and tourism sectors.
"Let's welcome Pertamina Mandalika Racing Series as the opening event for this year's National Championship with the preparations we have made for a long time, including the improvement of the circuit," he said.
