Legal Counsels Call Munarman, Rizieq Shihab, To FPI Against Terrorism
JAKARTA - Former Secretary Legal Aid of Islamic Defenders Front, Aziz Yanuar emphasized that Munarman was not involved with terrorist groups. This is because Munarman, Rizieq Shihab, and FPI strongly oppose acts of terrorism.
"What is clear is that Munarman and FPI (Islamic Defenders Front), including Habib Rizieq, strongly reject all forms of terrorism and related efforts. Treason and attempts to fight against the legitimate government are strongly rejected", Aziz told reporters at the East Jakarta District Court, Wednesday, April 28.
"Bro Munarman in the seminar referred to as baiat (inauguration) earlier emphasized there that we should not be provoked by sites that call for jihad or all that we cannot swallow completely and we must be selective and this is a trap and this is not appropriate. with these religious teachings", continued Aziz.
Regarding allegiance in several regions, said Aziz, Munarman was only a guest in a seminary event. So, it is not an activity devoted to taking allegiance.
"The pledge was not Mr. Munarman. In Makassar, Mr. Munarman was also invited to a seminar. The problem after that the party who invited him to take allegiance to all kinds of mass was accused of Mr. Munarman. It's not fair", said Aziz.
Aziz also mentioned the terrorist suspects who were arrested and said to have a history of being members of the FPI. They were actually expelled from FPI long before they were arrested.
"Three months after that they were warned, dismissed from FPI. It was an initiation from Mr. Munarman, meaning firm. If it is not by the framework of the Republic of Indonesia, he will be dismissed", said Aziz.
Previously, the Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan, said that Rizieq Shihab's lawyer was involved in acts of terrorism because he was connected with the allegiance of a suspected terrorist in Makassar, South Sulawesi.
"So it is related to the allegation case at UIN Jakarta, the allegation case in Makassar and following the allegiance in Medan. So there are three things", said Ramadhan.
If you think back a little, the name Munarman was mentioned by a suspected terrorist named Ahmad Aulia. In fact, the confession went viral on social media in early February 2021.
Based on the video uploaded by the @sahaL_AS Twitter account, the man decided to pledge allegiance to FPI along with hundreds of other sympathizers.
"I took the pledge at that time together with a hundred members of the FPI sympathizers and troops. At the FPI Makassar headquarters on the Sungai Limboto Street, Makassar", the man was quoted as saying on the @sahaL_AS account.
In addition, the former General Secretary of FPI Munarman attended the ceremony. Then, in the baiat (inauguration) process, it was led by two religious leaders.
"I took the pledge to be attended by Munarman as the central FPI committee at that time. Ustad Fauzan and Ustad Basri who led the allegiance at that time", he said.
