T03 Leapmotor Production In Poland Suddenly Stopped, Stellantis Considers Other Options

JAKARTA - It is known, Stellantis has established a joint venture with Leapmotor in building the Leapmotor International BV company, as an effort to bring affordable electric vehicles to the global market.

Leapmotor will take advantage of Stellantis' capabilities in expanding global networks, ranging from setting up car assembly plants to sales support services. However, the market expansion for this brand has problems.

Carscoops reported on Friday, April 11, the Stellantis plant in Tychy, Poland, which played a role in building the T03 electric car in Europe, had stopped production suddenly on March 30.

Stellantis has not officially disclosed the cause, but anonymous sources say the company has no plans to resume production of this small electric car on the blue continent.

Tentu ini merupakan kabar kurang baik bagi Stellantis maupun Leapmotor, mengingat sebelumnya perusahaan membatalkan rencananya untuk membangun pabrik EV keduanya di negara yang sama.

If the product presented is imports from China, then the company must bear a tariff of 21 percent that has been applied to the European Union (EU).

Despite its production discontinued, Stellantis insists it will not withdraw from Leapmotor investments. The company will still consider a number of options in order to compete in European territory.

The previous news was that Stellantis plans to build a factory in Spain and will spend 200 million US dollars on this assembly site.

This move was taken by the company after Spain decided to resign from the EU's tariff vote, making the country more politically viable for its future car production.

The plan is that the assembly line will produce one of the electric models called B10 which will be marketed in Europe starting in 2026.
