Arrest Of Munarman, PKB Politician: Police Cannot Arrest Without Evidence
JAKARTA - Former General Secretary of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Munarman, was arrested by Densus 88 of the National Police at his residence in the Pamulang area, South Tangerang, Tuesday, April 27.
National Awakening Party (PKB) politician Jazilul Fawaid believes the police have sufficient evidence to arrest Habib Rizieq's attorney.
“The police cannot carry out an arrest without sufficient evidence and information. We believe there is sufficient preliminary evidence, "Jazilul told reporters, Wednesday, April 28.
The deputy chairman of the PKB stated that his party supported the Police's efforts to prevent and prosecute all terrorism movements in any name.
He also hopes that the police will immediately provide an official statement regarding the status of illegal acts committed by the former 'frontman' of Islamic organizations that have been banned by the government.
"We are waiting for the legal status of an act that violates the law," said Jazilul.
According to the deputy chairman of the MPR RI, all citizens must be treated equally before the law or equality before the law. Therefore, Munarman must also be processed in accordance with the prevailing laws and regulations.
"In the holy month of Ramadan, actions that violate the law should not be tarnished. We Muslims are obliged to maintain order, "said Jazilul Fawaid.
It is known that the former General Secretary of FPI Munarman was arrested by the Densus 88 team at the Police Headquarters at Modern Hills Housing, Cinangka l Pamulang, South Tangerang, Tuesday, April 27.
Munarman's arrest is suspected because he motivated other people to commit criminal acts of terrorism, had bad consensus to commit crimes of terrorism and withheld information about criminal acts of terrorism.
