Klaten Police Name 1 Suspect In Water-Mixed Fuel Case At Trucuk Gas Station
KLATEN - Investigators from the Klaten Resort Police, Central Java, have named a suspect in the case of fuel oil mixed with water at the Public Fuel Filling Station (SPBU) 44,574,29 Trucuk, Klaten Regency, Central Java.
Head of the Klaten Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Iptu Taufik Frida Mustofa, said investigators had named one suspect with the initials M.
"Currently we have named one suspect with the initials M and we are detained at the Mapolres Detention Center," he said in Klaten, Antara, Thursday, April 10.
Suspect M was charged with Article 54 in conjunction with Article 28 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 22 of 2001 concerning Oil and Gas.
Taufik said that suspect M was the driver of the transportation equipment or crew of the fuel oil tanker (BBM).
"He is the driver of the transportation," he said.
Regarding the possibility of determining another suspect, Taufik said investigators were still investigating several people suspected of being involved in the mixed fuel case.
"This is still under development. Please pray for everything to be completed quickly," added Taufik.
In addition, investigators are still investigating the suspect's motive in the case. "The point is to pour the fuel somewhere and replace it with water," said Taufik.
Previously, Pertamina had fired the tank car crew in the case of fuel mixed with water at gas stations 44,574,29 Trucuk, Klaten.
Area Manager Communication, Relations, and CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Central Java Regional, Taufiq Kurniawan, said that his party had conducted an internal investigation regarding the case.

From the results of the investigation, it was found that there was a violation of operational procedures carried out intentionally by the tank car crew and the negligence of the gas station officers which resulted in water content at fuel at the Trucuk gas station.
Pertamina Patra Niaga gave sanctions in the form of dismissal of the tank car crew with the initials MJW and Y who were proven to have committed violations.
