Deputy Chairperson Of The Bekasi Regency DPRD Who Became A Bribery Suspect After Being Inaugurated Was Charged With 3 Years And A Fine Of IDR 250 Million
BEKASI - The Public Prosecutor (JPU) at the Bekasi District Attorney's Office demanded a 3-year prison sentence for the local DPRD leader Soleman regarding the act of accepting bribes from fellow council aspirations project entrepreneurs.
"The public prosecutor's team demanded 3 years and a fine of Rp250 million with a subsidiary of 3 months to the defendant Soleman," said Head of Sub-Section Prosecution at the Bekasi District Attorney Indra Oka in Cikarang, Antara, Thursday, April 10.
This demand was conveyed by the Public Prosecutor's team on the agenda of the trial for reading the demands for gratification cases that ensnared the defendant Soleman as the recipient of bribes and the bribe giver, namely Resvi, at the Bandung Corruption Court, West Java.
Soleman was charged with the fifth alternative indictment of Article 5 Paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b of the Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption.
This provision has been amended by Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20 of 2001 concerning amendments to Law (UU) of the Republic of Indonesia Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption.
"In this provision, a minimum sentence of 1 year is a maximum of 5 years and a minimum fine of Rp. 50 million, a maximum of Rp. 250 million," he said.
Meanwhile, the defendant who gave the bribe, namely Resvi, was charged with the second alternative indictment of Article 5 paragraph (1) letter b of Law 31/1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption as amended by Law 20/2001 concerning amendments to Law 31/1999 concerning the eradication of criminal acts of corruption.
"For the defendant Resvi, the prosecutor demanded a criminal sentence of 1 year and 6 months and a fine of Rp. 100 million, a subsidiary of 2 months. The agenda for the next trial is pledoi on Friday (11/4) tomorrow," he said.
Soleman was named a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the form of receiving gratuities in 2024 or the day after being inaugurated for the second time as Deputy Chair of the Bekasi Regency DPRD as a result of the simultaneous legislative elections in 2024.
Head of the Bekasi District Attorney's Office, Dwi Astuti Beniyati, said that Soleman (SL) was suspected of accepting bribes in the form of two units of luxury Mitsubishi Pajero and a BMW sedan from the person carrying out physical activities with the initials Resvi (RS) who had already been named as suspects.
"The determination of the suspect in this case is the development of the results of the investigation into the alleged bribery or gratuity committed by the suspect RS to the SL suspect," he said.
Head of the Special Crimes Section of the Bekasi District Attorney's Office Ronald Thomas Mendrofa said Soleman was suspected of violating the alternative article 12 letters a or the second article 12 letters e or the third 12 letters b or the fourth article 5 paragraph 2 junto article 5 paragraph 1 letter a.

"The threat of imprisonment is at least one year and a maximum of 20 years. The form of the alleged article is an alternative, meaning that one of these articles will be proven later in court, which one is most in accordance with the elements of his actions," said Ronald.
