Shinji Aoyama Resigns From Honda, What Causes It?

JAKARTA - Bad news came from the Honda Motor Co camp. The automotive manufacturer from Japan announced that the Executive Vice President, Shinji Aoyama faced allegations of inappropriate behavior during social gatherings outside of working hours.

The company did not explain in detail about the incident, but the audit committee immediately conducted an investigation, drawn up a disciplinary action plan, reported the plan to the board of directors, and asked for opinions from external experts.

The board of directors is scheduled to make a decision on this disciplinary action, but Aoyama decided to resign from his position.

"The Company's board of directors has decided that it is appropriate for Mr. Aoyama to resign from his position," Honda wrote on its official website, Thursday, April 10.

With this incident, Honda Toshihiro Mibe Director and President will also voluntarily return 20 percent of his monthly compensation for two months.

It is not yet known who will replace Aoyama, but this well-known manufacturer will announce a new management structure in the near future.
