Depok Mayor Apologizes For Allowing Official Cars To Be Used For Homecoming

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi asked Depok Mayor Supian Suri to apologize to the residents of West Java, especially Depok City, regarding the granting of permits to ASN using official cars for Eid homecoming purposes.

"The Mayor of Depok who has made a mistake, is to allow ASN to use government vehicles for government vehicles, official vehicles for homecoming, please convey your apologies," said Dedi as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 9.

After that, Depok Mayor Supian Suri apologized to the public, especially the residents of Depok City, West Java.

"Resident of Depok, my Indonesian citizen Supian Suri, Mayor of Depok, for my mistake, I ask to open a door of apology for the maximum policy of the license to use official cars," said Supian Suri.

Supian Suri also said that he had been directly reprimanded by the Governor of West Java and had also made an apology letter to the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), Head of BKN and Menpan RB.

"And I have been directly reprimanded by the governor and have made an apology letter to the governor, the Ministry of Home Affairs, to the Head of BKN, and Mr. Menpan RB," said Supian Suri.

Dedi then replied: "Especially to Depok residents," said Dedi.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Indramayu Lucky Hakim was also asked to apologize for his vacation to Japan without permission from the governor or the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri), especially during the 2025 Eid homecoming period.

Lucky Hakim admitted his mistake and apologized and even admitted that he had been summoned by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendari) and was ready to accept the sanctions.

After the two regional heads in West Java apologized, Dedi Mulyadi expressed his appreciation and said that the Mayor of Depok and Regent of Indramayu were leaders who dared to admit their mistakes.

"Thank you, yes, these leaders who are gentle dare to do, dare to take responsibility. You started it. Greetings to the residents of Depok and Indramayu sing in good health, hopefully the waste affairs and coin sweepers will all be finished. These are great leaders in West Java," said Dedi ending.

Previously, Depok Mayor Supian Suri gave permission for ASNs to use official vehicles for Eid 2025 homecoming. Even permits to use official vehicles for Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijri homecoming are contained in Circular (SE) Number 356/162/Irda/2025 issued on March 25, 2025.

However, Supian's decision contradicts Dedi Mulyadi's direction which prohibits using official vehicles for homecoming purposes. Even Dedi firmly so that official vehicles are stored and not used when ASN homecoming.

"It is recommended not to bring an official vehicle to his village. But the vehicle is stored at home, that's the first," said Dedi on Monday (24/3).
