Not Even A Year Yet, Wijaya 80 Has Received A Manggung Offer In Japan

JAKARTA - Wijaya 80 has not even been a year since debuting in the national music industry. The group consisting of Ardhito Pramono (vocal, keytar), Hezky Joe (vocals, guitar), Erikson Jayanto (keyboards) first introduced himself via single Aku in August 2024.

To date, Wijaya 80 has released an extended play (EP), an 'jump', which contains six songs.

However, in a short time, Wijaya 80 has attracted the attention of many listeners, not only from Indonesia, but also from those in other countries.

Ardhito even confirmed that Wijaya 80 had received offers to appear in several cities in Japan. He saw an offer that came as a manifestation of what the group had done.

The vocalist said the offer for a gig in Japan came from the closeness of the personnel to the community. However, there is no definite date and location that can be announced for Wijaya 80's appearance in Japan.

"Because we are close to Japanese community friends, there are so many who say 'Come on, go to Japan.'" Ardhito said when met in Cikini, Central Jakarta, Wednesday, April 9.

For Ardhito, the opportunity to perform in Japan will be very good for Wijaya 80. While waiting for the official schedule to be announced, they chose to focus on strengthening their domestic fan base.

"That's the idea that we are still working on, actually, to come there (Japan). The most important thing is to strengthen Wijayanto and Wijayanti'anti's fanbases in Indonesia," said Ardhito.

Furthermore, Erikson said that Wijaya 80 had prepared a lot of material for release. They will launch a single titled 'Quite Adult' on April 25.

In addition, the second EP work will also be carried out. Of the many materials available, Wijaya 80 will perform curation for songs that are ready to be released.

"Actually, we have a lot of songs, but later we will choose which ones will enter the EP," concluded Erikson.
