Pramono Officially Changes PPSU Jakarta Requirements Only Graduates From Elementary School, 1,625 Positions Still Empty
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung officially changed the recruitment requirements for public infrastructure and facilities (PPSU) officers to only be elementary school graduates.
Previously, residents who wanted to work as PPSU had to have the last education at least high school (SMA).
This is stated in the Decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta Number 267 of 2025 concerning Technical Guidelines for Handling Infrastructure and General Facilities at the Kelurahan Level.
Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Rano Karno emphasized that orange troops do not need higher education to work to maintain the cleanliness of Jakarta.
"Right now, the important thing is to be able to read and write enough. Because we see that PPSU is not an expert or skill worker. What is needed is those who really want to work," said Rano at DKI Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday, April 9.
In the Governor's Decree, it is stated that PPSU officers have job qualifications with minimum elementary/equivalent education and/or can read writing and prioritize having an ID card for DKI Jakarta Province.
In collecting data on the number of PPSU in Jakarta in 2025, it was recorded that there were still 1,652 PPSU positions that had not been filled and spread across various urban villages.
Rano said, the number of PPSU needed in each kelurahan varies depending on the area and the level of population density.
"For example, Kemayoran, in one village there are only 10 recruits, because the area is not wide. But there are (kelurahan) that need up to 30, maybe because the area is wide. The criteria are of course kelurahan parties who understand better," explained Rano.
The plan is that the socialization of the new PPSU rules for elementary school graduates will be carried out in the fourth week of April 2025.
