Lesu Market, Sales Of 10 Percent Global Volvo Last March
JAKARTA - Volvo Cars recorded its global sales during March 2025 totaling 70,373 units, down to 10 percent compared to the same period last year.
The downward trend was also followed by sales of electrified vehicles, consisting of Electric Vehicle and Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) which were 9 percent lower than last year in the same month.
The segment contributed a total of up to 43 percent of Volvo's total car sales during March. Meanwhile, pure EVs contributed up to 19 percent of total sales.
Launching from sales data on the brand's official website, Wednesday, April 9, major markets such as Europe book sales of up to 36,093 units, down 9 percent. This was followed by EV sales which decreased by 18 percent, but contributed up to 57 percent of all cars on the blue continent.
This bad trend was also followed by the United States (US) market which experienced a decline of up to 8 percent or total sales of 14,052 units. However, sales of pure Swedish electric vehicles increased by 5 percent compared to last year.

Other Volvo's largest markets such as China managed to reach sales of up to 10,867 units, down to 22 percent. In the Bamboo Curtain country, the score on pure EVs reached 1,243 units that were sold or increased by 20 percent.
During March, the XC60 model again dominated the best-selling Volvo product with 23,776 units, followed by a combination of 18,629 XC40 and EX40 models, and XC90 to 10,764 units.
Throughout this year, the brand under Geely Holdings earned total sales of up to 172,219 units, down 6 percent globally.
