KPK Investigator Stepanus Admitted That He Had Reset His Cellphone When He Was Arrested By Propam
JAKARTA - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Stepanus Robin Pattuju (SRP) admitted that he had reset his cellphone when he was arrested by the Police Professional and Security Division (Propam).
However, Stepanus denied that his cellphone was reset by the National Police Headquarters. "No. I reset the cellphone," said Stepanus at the KPK building, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Tuesday, April 27.
However, Stepanus did not explain why the cellphone was reset.
In addition, he also admitted that at that time he was not arrested, but surrendered to the Police Propam Division.
"I surrendered myself," said Stepanus.
Stepanus together with the Mayor of Tanjungbalai M. Syahrial (MS) and Maskur Husain (MH) as lawyers have been named as suspects in the alleged bribery case by state officials related to the handling of the Tanjungbalai Mayor's case in 2020-2021.
Stepanus and Maskur agreed to make a commitment with Syahrial regarding the investigation of alleged corruption in the Tanjungbalai City Government not to be followed up by the KPK by preparing Rp1.5 billion.
Syahrial agreed to Stepanus and Maskur's request by transferring money gradually 59 times through a bank account belonging to Riefka Amalia / private or a friend of Stepanus.
Syahrial also gave cash to Stepanus up to the total money that Stepanus had received was Rp1.3 billion.
Of the money that Stepanus had received from Syahrial, then given to Maskur in the amount of Rp. 325 million and Rp. 200 million.
In addition, Maskur is also suspected of receiving money from other parties of around Rp. 200 million, while Stepanus from October 2020 to April 2021 is suspected of receiving money from other parties through transfers of Riefka's bank account of Rp. 438 million.
