Dead-end, Mayor Bobby Asks The KPK Leaders For Center Point Tax Issues
JAKARTA - Pemko Medan, North Sumatra, has requested the support of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the local District Attorney (Kejari) in collecting taxes for Mall Center Point which has been operating since 18 July 2013.
"Mall Center Point does not yet have an IMB with a retribution value of more than Rp175 billion. In addition, taxes including PBB in the last few years have not been paid," said Medan Mayor Bobby Nasution in Medan, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, April 27.
This was emphasized by Bobby in front of KPK Deputy Chairperson Lili Pintauli Siregar, and Head of Medan Kajar Teuku Rahmatsyah at a coordination meeting and monitoring of corruption prevention in Medan City.
The son-in-law of President Joko Widodo admits that until now there has been no meeting point on the land for the Center Point Mall, between the building owner and PT Kereta Api Indonesia.
However, the grandest shopping center, he continued, was already operating and it would be wrong if this was not considered by the Medan City Government as a potential Regional Original Revenue (PAD).
"I can't work alone, of course I need support from all parties. As today it was done thanks to the assistance of the Medan District Court, so that we can also get what should belong to the Medan City Government," said Bobby.
