Deputy Minister Of Home Affairs: The Results Of Lucky Hakim's Examination On Vacation To Japan Are Still Being Investigated

JAKARTA - Deputy Minister of Home Affairs (Wamendagri) Bima Arya Sugiarto explained that the investigation of Indramayu Regent Lucky Hakim is still being developed.

"Currently we are still developing this process (inspection), and in due course we will convey it to the public what kind of decision from the Ministry of Home Affairs will be made," said Bima Arya as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 8.

It is known, Lucky Hakim traveled to Japan on a holiday without first obtaining permission from the Minister of Home Affairs (Mendagri). This action is considered to violate the provisions of travel abroad for regional heads.

Bima explained that the Inspector General (Irjen) of the Ministry of Home Affairs directly led the examination of Lucky. From the investigation carried out, a number of data and facts were found regarding the actions taken by the Regent of Indramayu.

He assessed that in general Lucky had limited understanding of the rules for regional heads who were about to go abroad.

"He does not understand that even if he is on leave or off, a regional head must apply for a permit," he explained.

He emphasized that regional heads are not part-time jobs and do not know holidays. In regulations, there is even no room for regional heads to apply for holiday leave.

"This is to illustrate that the task of the regional head is not easy," said Bima.

In addition, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs did not rule out the possibility of this limited understanding also being owned by other regional heads. Therefore, this event is a warning as well as a lesson for other regional heads to better understand the rights and obligations held.

"With this problem, other regional heads better understand that the regional heads really have to look at all the rules again," he said.

Bima explained that the Minister of Home Affairs, Muhammad Tito Karnavian, had explained the rights and obligations as well as the prohibition for regional heads in the Retret of Regional Heads some time ago. The explanation is complemented by the consequences of the sanctions that will be given.

Meanwhile, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Ahmad Husin Tambunan explained that the examination of Lucky Hakim took place from 13.00 to 16.30 WIB. A total of 43 questions were asked to Lucky and all answered.

Strengthening Bima's explanation, Husin said that he understood that the travel of regional heads abroad must have a permit from the Minister of Home Affairs. However, he assumed that the permit did not apply during holidays or collective leave.

"So that is the point of investigation and at this time we from the Inspectorate are still investigating," said Husin.

The process of deepening the examination by Itjen will last no later than 14 days. The Ministry of Home Affairs Inspector General will summon the parties Lucky mentioned during the examination process.
