Affirming Indonesia Is Not A Poor Country, Prabowo: We Can 'Sir Pok'
JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto emphasized that Indonesia has great economic power and is not a poor country. He emphasized that Indonesia could import 17 billion US dollars, which is a surplus of the Republic of Indonesia against the US.
According to him, Indonesia is a big country and has strength but still tends to be low when compared to other countries. Indonesia's strength, he said, comes from natural resources in the form of abundant strategic minerals.
"I am very confident. I have assigned the Coordinating Minister for the Economy (Airlangga) and Pak Luhut to negotiate. We can make Mr. Plot. I offered them Mr. Pok, 17 billion of our surplus, 17 billion we bought from America," Prabowo said in Economic Facilities, Tuesday, April 8.
Prabowo detailed that there are several commodities that Indonesia can buy from the US to fulfill the surplus of 17 billion US dollars.

"What do we need from America? We need Elpiji 9 billion US dollars. We need fuel oil to be imported again 9 billion more," he continued.
Not only that, Indonesia can also import technological equipment to support oil and gas drilling activities to achieve the target of 1 million barrels. The tools include rigs drilling from America. Moreover, he said, currently Indonesia will open 10,000 old wells with new technology.
Indonesia also needs kdelai, cotton and wheat to aircraft that can be imported from the United States to fulfill the 17 billion dollar surplus.
"The important thing is we are confident," he said.
