Trump Tariff Effect, Jaguar Land Rover Stops All Vehicle Exports To US
JAKARTA - Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) was forced to take steps by temporarily stopping all car exports to the United States, as President Donald Trump emphasized the 25 percent tariff for all cars and imported parts.
Based on a report from Carscoops, quoted on Tuesday, April 8, JLR claims that the United States is an important market for the company's luxury brands.
"We are imposing short-term measures including a temporary suspension of shipments in April, while developing medium- to long-term plans," a company spokesperson told Bloomberg.

JLR itself shared the latest reports in which America accounted for nearly a quarter of the 430,000 vehicles sold between March 2023 and March 2024.
After posting a 17 percent decline in quarterly profit in January, this development occurred at an inappropriate time for the British automaker. Moreover, currently the model is being looked at a lot to compete with Mercedes and BMW,
Therefore, stopping deliveries for a while until management can formulate a cohesive strategy in this new situation seems to be a wise decision.
However, according to a report from The Times, Jaguar Land Rover still has a stock of cars at US dealers that are sufficient for the next few months and will not be affected by the new tariff.
