Eid Holiday Completed, Odd Even In Jakarta Again Valid

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has re-implemented an odd-even motorized vehicle system starting today. This traffic control system is in effect again after being abolished during the Eid holiday period.

"For odd-even days, Tuesday, April 8, 2025, it is valid again," said Head of the DKI Jakarta Transportation Agency, Syafrin Liputo, to reporters, Monday, April 7.

"We are advised by vehicle drivers to always comply with existing traffic signs, prioritize road safety, and follow the directions of officers in the field," he continued.

Previously, odd-even motorized vehicles in Jakarta were abolished from March 28 to April 7, 2025. Today's odd-even elimination coincides with the holiday period and leave with the celebration of Nyepi Holy Day and Eid al-Fitr.

The determination of the holiday is based on the Joint Decree of the Minister of Religion Number 1017 of 2024, the Minister of Manpower Number 2 of 2024 and the Minister of Administrative Reform of the Republic of Indonesia Number 2 of 2024 concerning National Holidays and Joint Leave in 2025.

Then, Article 3 Paragraph (3) of Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019 states that traffic restrictions with the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays stipulated by a presidential decree.

It is known that the Jakarta odd-even system is enforced on 25 roads on Monday to Friday which are divided into two sessions, where the first session is enforced from 06.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB. While the second session is enforced from 16.00 WIB to 21.00 WIB.

Drivers who violate the odd-even rule will be subject to a maximum fine of IDR 500,000 in accordance with Article 287 paragraph 1 of Law Number 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation.
