Samsung Ready To Launch One UI 8 Based On Android 16 Along With Galaxy Z Fold 7 And Flip 7 In July 2025

JAKARTA - After experiencing a massive delay in the release of One UI 7 based on Android 15, Samsung appears to be ready to move faster for the next update. Recent reports state that One UI 8, built on Android 16, will debut as soon as July 2025, alongside the launch of the latest generation of foldable phones Samsung: Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

The story about One UI 7 is not without drama. The South Korean company only released its beta version in December 2024 a few months after Google inaugurated Android 15. Even users outside the Galaxy S25 line have not been able to taste the stable version until now. The final update of One UI 7 will only start rolling out earlier next week, more than six months since Android 15 was announced by Google.

But in contrast to One UI 7, reports from SamMobile suggest that One UI 8 will come much faster. One UI 8 is expected to be available directly on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 at launch, and this marks Samsung's aggressive move in integrating the latest version of Android into their devices.

In fact, there are indications that Samsung will jump directly from One UI 7.0 to One UI 8.0, missing minor releases such as versions of X.1 or X.1.1 which is usually a big renewal bridge.

Until now there is no official information on when other devices such as the Galaxy S25 or older models will receive One UI 8. However, if the launch speed is in accordance with this report, then the update schedule this time will be much earlier than the One UI 7.

Referring to the previous launch pattern, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 were announced on July 10, 2024, and were officially released on July 24. If Samsung follows a similar timeline, then Fold 7 and Flip 7 will most likely be introduced in the same time span.

Google has also accelerated the release schedule of Android 16 which is expected to arrive in June or July "so Samsung has the potential to become the first producer to release an Android 16 out-of-the-box device, something that Google's Pixel line has so far.

Android 16's fourth Beta, which is the final preview version before the official release, is scheduled to arrive this month. With all this acceleration, Samsung doesn't seem to want to repeat the One UI 7 schedule errors and is ambitious to lead the competition again in terms of Android software updates.
