16,700 Train Passengers Arrive at Gambir Station on Friday

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Operational Area (Daop) 1 Jakarta reported that during the return flow of the 1446 Hijriah/2025 Eid holiday, train passengers (KA) arriving at Gambir Station reached 16,700 people on Friday (4/4).

"Temporary data shows that 16,700 passengers arrived at Gambir Station," said KAI Daop 1 Jakarta Public Relations Manager Ixfan Hendriwintoko as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 4.

He said that passenger arrivals at Gambir Station had increased since April 2, 2025 and continued to increase until April 4, 2025.

On April 2, Gambir Station recorded the arrival of 11,509 passengers, an increase of 4,350 passengers compared to the number of arrivals on April 1, which was 7,159 passengers.

Furthermore, on April 3, there was another significant increase in arrivals with the number of train passengers (KA) reaching 16,054. He estimated that the number of passenger arrivals on Friday would be the peak.

According to him, the current conditions at Pasar Senen Station also show a similar trend.

Meanwhile, for departures, Ixfan said that on Friday (4/4) there were 85 train trips serving passengers from Daop 1 Jakarta.

A total of 49,184 seats were provided for departures, with 33,804 seats sold, recording an occupancy of 69 percent.

In detail, Gambir Station serves 46 train trips with a seating capacity of 21,868. A total of 11,052 seats have been sold, recording an occupancy of 51 percent.

Pasar Senen Station serves 42 train trips with a seating capacity of 27,316. ​​A total of 22,752 seats have been sold, recording an occupancy of 83 percent.

"So for departures from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen there are still enough available, for train customers who still do not have tickets can immediately make reservations through official channels," he said.

The total number of train trips served during the 2025 Eid transportation period from March 21 to April 11 reached 1,876 trips (including additional trains).

With a seating capacity (TD) of 1,048,630 available, the total number of tickets sold reached 815,512 seats, with an average occupancy of 78 percent.

To support smooth travel during the return flow, PT KAI also added a number of train trips.

A total of 380 additional train trips were prepared during this period, with an additional capacity of 194,260 seats.

"We hope that the public can depart safely, comfortably, and comply with applicable provisions for the smooth flow of the return journey for Eid 1446 H/2025," concluded Ixfan.
