JAKARTA - The beauty world is always filled with unique innovations, but this time there is a really unexpected trend, namely makeup or makeup of knit threads.

The makeup trend first went viral after a 19-year-old makeup artist, Anna Murphy introduced her on TikTok in mid-March.

The video immediately attracted attention with more than 52 million views. In his tutorial, Murphy explained the steps to make this unique look.

"For the bottom line, I only use white liquid makeup from the Mehron brand," he said in the trending video, quoted by VOI from the New York Post page, Wednesday, April 2.

After that, he added a layer of spirit gum from the Ben Nye brand which was applied to his face, starting from the tip of the nose.

"Once the glue was dry, I started attaching white threads in a circular pattern that kept getting bigger," he explained.

The end result is astonishing, a face that looks like a live knitted doll. However, Murphy admits that even though the look is cool, it really doesn't make it comfortable.

This trend is increasingly being discussed after influencer totaling Barnes, known as the TikTok account @Snitchery, tried makeup in a tutorial video that is now viral.

"Recognize the paralysis demon that haunts my brain," he joked in the video.

Although it looks strange, this trend has attracted the attention of many extreme makeup lovers. Ashlyn live, a 30-year-old beauty expert from Highbridge, admits that she enjoys experimenting with makeup style like this.

"I like to try a new creative makeup style. I will look for any reason to look exaggerated, and this stringy makeup trend really fits my taste," he explained.

He managed to complete his unique makeup in two hours with just a white thread for 1.25 US dollars or Rp. 20,000 purchased from Dollar Tree, plus a few drops of latex glue and his favorite Morphe makeup palette.

"As New Yorkers, this is what we do. We express creativity through fashion and beauty." he said.

Although this look may not be part of everyday makeup, makeup has proven that the beauty world has never run out of unique ideas. From TikTok trends to fashion stages, creativity like this always finds its own way to shine.
