Not Offered A New Contract, Muller Reportedly Will Leave Munich
JAKARTA - Thomas Muller is rumored to be parting ways with Bayern Munich at the end of this season because his contract is not renewed by Die Roten.
"Muller wants to continue playing at the club, but Bayern indicated he won't give a new contract," said Fabrizio Romano, citing BILD on Monday, March 31.
Muller is no longer the main choice and has played as a substitute for Bayern more since the arrival of the new coach, Vincent Kompany.
The 35-year-old has only played 9 starts in 23 appearances in the German League this season.
In the Champions League, Muller has only appeared 3 times as a starter from 10 matches. Even though he is no longer the main player, he is still one of the players with the highest salary in the squad.
Bayern's high salary is one of the reasons Bayern has no intention of giving Muller a new contract.
During last week's international break, Bayern management is claimed to have held two meetings with Muller to discuss the player's future.
