Hylo Open Badminton Tournament Up Status To Super 500 BWF
JAKARTA The Hylo Open badminton tournament has upgraded from Super 300 to Super 500 in the BWF World Tour calendar for the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
The International Badminton Federation (BWF) in a statement on their official website announced that the rise in the status of the Hylo Open following the Canada Open has dropped its status to the Super 300 BWF tournament.
The Hylo Open was identified by BWF as the most appropriate Super 500 replacement and will ensure higher world-class tournaments in Germany and Europe.
This tournament has been a routine event on the badminton calendar since 1988. The Hylo Open 2025 in Saarbr\"ucken, Germany is scheduled to take place from 28 October to 2 November.
The Indonesian representatives who won the Hylo Open last time were the mixed doubles Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati and the men's singles Anthony Sinisuka Ginting.

The two of them compactly climbed the highest podium there in the 2022 edition. As for the two editions after that, the best trip for the Indonesian representatives was to reach the runner-up status.
This position was secured by the women's doubles pair Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Rehan/Lisa in the 2023 edition.
Apri/Fadia themselves at that time were in the middle of winning the first game over Chinese representative Zhang Shu Xian/Zheng Yu, when they decided to withdraw. Both withdrew from the competition due to injuries suffered by Apri.
Meanwhile, Rehan/Lisa failed to defend their title after losing to Hong Kong's Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet in a three-game match.
