Donald Trump Threatens Iranian Bombarders If Rejecting Nuclear Negotiations

JAKARTA - US PresidentDonald Trump has threatened to massively bomb Iran if the country refuses to engage in nuclear negotiations with the United States.

That statement is Trump's strongest threat to Iran since he became US President last January.

"If there is no agreement, there will be bombings. Bombings, which they have never experienced before, will occur," he said in an interview with NBC News on Ahad (30/3).

Earlier on the same day, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian reportedly refused to negotiate directly with the US regarding the nuclear program.

He also confirmed that Iran had sent an official response to Trump's letter to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, containing requests for direct negotiations.

However, Pezeshkian stated that his party did not rule out indirect negotiations.

Trump has been trying to publicly pressure Iran into direct negotiations and had hinted at a "very bad" reply if Iran refuses.

During his first term as president, Trump unilaterally withdrew the US from the 2015 nuclear agreement between superpowers and Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action. He then imposed again various sanctions against Iran.

Despite having complied with the nuclear deal for a year after the US withdrew, Iran is gradually reducing its commitment on the pretext that other parties in the deal fail to protect Iran's interests.
