CILEGON - PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) has transferred motorcyclists to Merak Port, Banten and officially closed Ciwandan Port, to serve vehicle crossings at the moment of Eid Al-Fitr 2025 homecoming.

President Director (Director) of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) Heru Widodo said the decision was in accordance with the direction of the Land Transportation Management Center (BPTD) Region VIII Banten to close Ciwandan Port in serving travelers.

"The traffic of motorbike travelers has been sloping in Merak-Bakauheni. So that in accordance with the provisions of the discretion of the Joint Decree (SKB), starting on Sunday (30/3) at 12.00 WIB, motorcycle services from Ciwandan are officially closed," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 31.

Furthermore, the service for crossing motorbikes and trucks in the seventh and lower classes is now again directed to Merak Port.

He said, in general, the Lebaran crossing transportation event this year ran smoothly, safely, comfortably, and under control. However, ASDP together with all stakeholders will continue to make improvements and improve the quality of service, in particular so that the return flow service of the crossing can be served properly.

"We fully appreciate all stakeholders in this Lebaran Transport operational journey, with all the dynamics that have occurred. Despite the queues, along with the increase in the volume of passengers and vehicles at the peak of the homecoming flow, the community can be served, can cross safely, meet with family to celebrate Eid al-Fitr," he said.

According to Heru, in the success of the 2025 Eid Transport service, good coordination and collaboration are the keys so that services continue to run in an orderly manner until the backflow is complete.

"Our common goal is to provide a smooth, safe, and safe homecoming experience in line with the theme of peaceful homecoming is fun," he added.

ASDP has successfully served the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow on Friday (28/3) or D-3 Lebaran with a total number of 42,288 vehicles, consisting of 17,982 four wheels, 21,863 motorcycles, 951 buses, and 1,492 trucks.
