Pertamina Jaya Hospital Officially Operates As A Special Hospital For Handling COVID-19

JAKARTA - Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) began operating as a special hospital for handling COVID 19 today, Tuesday 14 April. The hospital will be a place for handling patients under surveillance or PDP or patients confirmed positive for COVID 19, with moderate, severe, and critical clinical symptoms.

"As with other referral hospitals that have been appointed by the Government of Indonesia, RSPJ will accept patients referred from hospitals that have provided previous patient care," said the Managing Director of Pertamedika IHC-Holding from BUMN Hospital, Dr. Fathema Djan Rahmat in a written statement, Tuesday, April 14. .

He said, to complete the patient referral process, his party was building a COVID-19 Crisis Center which will be on duty 24 hours. So that to refer patients, the referring hospital can contact the RSPJ Crisis Center which will also act as a triage point or treatment selection point according to the patient's condition category, at moderate, severe or critical levels, to determine the type of treatment and further intensive care.

"Seeing the surge in the number of COVID-19 sufferers in Indonesia, Pertamedika IHC, which is fully supported by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises & its parent company, PT Pertamina (Persero), is preparing 160 special care beds for COVID-19 patients along with various intensive care facilities. Previously, Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta stated that it was ready to accept patients related to COVID-19 in early April 2020, especially to handle patients under surveillance (PDP).

Director of Pertamina Jaya Hospital (RSPJ) Syafik Ahmad said that the capacity prepared to handle PDP is 70 rooms with details of 65 rooms for inpatient services, while 5 mattresses will be alerted for emergency conditions.

Furthermore, Syafik said the RSPJ would prepare as many as 20 specialist doctors and 200 nurses to treat patients under surveillance who were indicated by COVID-19.

Syafik also said that the medical officers would later be facilitated by a place to stay while handling the COVID-19 case. The number of medical officers would later be adjusted if there was an increase in patients at the hospital owned by the State-Owned Enterprise.
