Czech Belia Tennis Player Beat Djokovic In Miami Open 2025 Final

JAKARTA The young Czech player, Jakub Mensik, managed to beat former world number one Novak Djokovic in the final match at the Miami Open 2025.

The Minister ofsik issued an extraordinary appearance during the final match to stop his childhood idol from Serbia with a score of 7-6 (7-4) and 7-6 (7-4) on Monday, March 31, 2025, Indonesian afternoon.

Before winning his first ATP Tour title on a humid and wet night, Mensik had wanted to decide to withdraw from the tournament due to a knee problem. However, physiotherapist managed to care for him and allowed him to appear.

"One hour before my first game here, I held the paper statement backwards from the tournament. I was just lucky because the referee was having lunch. I came for treatment and he [fisiotherapist] did a miracle and thanks to him, I can stand here," said the Minister ofsik, quoted by BBC Sport.

Djokovic, who has a collection of 24 Grand Slam titles, came to Miami on target to become the third player in the Open era to win 100 single titles in history.

Thus, Djokovic's wait automatically continued after a loss to a 10-month-old when he won his first title in 2006.

"It hurts for me to admit it, but you are better. Good luck you are. Maybe you will let me win when we meet again later," said Djokovic.

Mensik is the ninth and third youngest Masters 1000 champion in Miami after Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal.

This is a rapid increase in Mensik, which is currently ranked in the top 50 ranking ATP. He previously made it to the top 100 in February 2024 after reaching the final at Qatar Open.

While in Miami, Mensik was recorded as beating three top ten players. Apart from Djokovic, he also stopped Jack Draper from England and Taylor Fritz from America to lift the title of the biggest in his career.
