Dedi Mulyadi Seals Eiger Camp Project In Tangkuban Parahu, Worried About Disaster Prone
West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi revealed the sealing of the Eiger Camp tourism project on the slopes of Mount Tangkuban Parahu, West Bandung, Saturday, March 29, because there is a potential for disaster vulnerability.
"I also went to the field yesterday, in my opinion, it's the highest position, right, the tea garden is at the end and (there are) concrete buildings, it means there is potential for disaster vulnerabilities," said Dedi, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 31.
Regarding licensing, from the normative aspect, he has seen that there is a written permit attached to the location by Eiger, even though the West Bandung Regent admits that he has not seen the barcode for licensing the project.
Even so, he emphasized, there must be considerations about the impact in the future considering that after a disaster, it will not be distinguished between licensed and unlicensed projects.
"Because those who do not have a permit do not necessarily guarantee that there will be no disaster. Likewise, those with permits also do not necessarily guarantee that there will be no disasters. Because disasters can occur at any time," he said.
The sealing, he said, was to temporarily suspend the Eiger Camp development process and give the team of experts the opportunity to conduct scientific evaluations.
"It's closed first, I ask to stop first. Later the team of experts will work, let the one who is responsible for the study aspect be an expert whether it's prone to disasters or not. Not me, not the technical service because later the point of view is of interest and not objective," he said.
Previously, the adventure equipment company, Eiger, claimed that Eiger Camp's licensing documents at the foot of Mount Tangkuban Parahu in Sukawana, Employee Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency were complete and in accordance with applicable regulations.
The amdal Eiger Camp document maker from PT Mitra Reka Buana, Jemy Septendi, said that Eiger Camp's permits had been processed for a long time and followed all procedures mandated by regulations.
"Documents and complete licensing, including amdal documents. The basic building coefficients are only two percent of the permits given," said Jemy in Bandung, Friday (28/3).
This is related to the appearance of a photo of the land clearing, precisely in Employee Village, Parongpong District, West Bandung Regency, which is circulating on Instagram social media.
The photo shows the activity of the land clearing project containing excavation and backgaining activities for the construction of roads and buildings.
The cleared land area is estimated to be more than 5 hectares. The photo shows the location of the tea plant due to camera capture in contrast to the conditions around the so-called Eiger Camp project.
