Ruben Onsu Confirms Convert: Hijrah, Not Because Of Household Problems

JAKARTA - At the moment of Eid, Ruben Onsu revealed that it was true that he had converted to Islam after the issue related to this became a public conversation. This was conveyed by Ruben Onsu through uploads on his personal Instagram.

"Assalamualaikum. Maybe this is the time for me to convey, I'm sorry if I can only convey it, because I want to focus on worship," wrote Ruben Onsu, quoted by VOI from Instagram @ruben_onsu, Monday, March 31.

As a human being who does not escape mistakes, Ruben admits that he continues to strive to become a better person. He also emphasized that his decision had been carefully considered and had nothing to do with household problems with his ex-wife, Sarwendah.

"As a human being, I have not escaped mistakes, and continue to try to improve in the future to be better, I have thought about all these decisions for a long time, and have nothing to do with the household I have lived in and this is not because of anyone's coercion," said Ruben Onsu.

In his upload, Ruben expressed hope that he could remain istiqomah and apologize to anyone who may have been hurt by his words or actions.

"Hopefully I can istiqomah, and through this writing I apologize to anyone, if there are words and behaviors of mine all this time," said Ruben Onsu.
