Ahead Of Eid Al-Fitr, Israel Expands Attacks In Gaza Strip
JAKARTA - Ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 2024, the Israeli Military on Saturday 29 March stated that it had expanded ground operations in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
In its official statement, the Israeli military confirmed that their troops had entered the Jeneina area in Rafah City to widen the so-called "defensive security zone" in the southern region of Gaza.
Over the weekend, Israeli forces claimed to have launched attacks on dozens of targets in the region. This was quoted from ANTARA.
On March 19, Israel announced the start of limited land operations to expand the buffer zone between northern and southern Gaza.
The day before, on March 18, a massive Israeli military airstrike into the Gaza Strip left more than 920 dead, injuring more than 2,000 others, and ending the ceasefire and prisoner exchange deals that have been running since January.
Since the start of Israel's attack on Gaza in October 2023, more than 50,200 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have lost their lives, while more than 114,000 others have been injured.
