National Police Chief Claims No Crime At Gambir Station During Homecoming

JAKARTA - The Head of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Police Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that no crime has occurred to this day at Gambir Station, Jakarta.

"We asked several passengers, including all officers, that to this day no crime has occurred. So, of course, I also thank all ranks who carry out their duties," he said while visiting Gambir Station with Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno, Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, and Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in order to check services for Eid Al-Fitr 1446 Hijriah/2025 AD homecoming, Jakarta, Saturday.

The National Police itself has asked Saka Bhayangkara to help secure the flow of homecoming and back to Lebaran 2025 at Gambir Station from March 26 to April 4, 2025.

The organization is a Scout Work Unit that focuses on security and public order under the auspices of the Police.

In addition to maintaining security, members of Saka Bhayangkara also helped travelers who had difficulty printing tickets or other things before entering the train.

On that occasion, Listyo Sigit also reported that 86 percent of the population used rail transportation to go home to date.

Therefore, he encouraged the public to use rail services, both for homecoming and backflow, to reduce congestion on land routes.

For people who will carry out homecoming today and also return later, this is also the one who ordered a return ticket for homecoming, also half of it.

"I always advise this (train) to be an alternative that can be used by people who go home and who will return because in terms of security, comfort, and timeliness, this is very good and of course this can also be used to reduce density on land routes, because indeed the space prepared by the railway line is still quite a lot and this can be an alternative," said the National Police Chief.
