TikTok Shop Will Be Available In France, Germany, And Italy Starting Next Monday

JAKARTA - TikTok Shop's social commerce (s-commerce) platform will soon launch in France, Germany, and Italy, as an effort to expand its reach further to Europe.

TikTok Shop has previously been available in the UK since 2021. However, since TikTok is in danger of being closed in the United States (US), ByteDance is trying to expand its presence in other countries.

In fact, one of TikTok Shop's representatives has confirmed that they are exploring several collaborations with local sellers to register their products with TikTok Shop.

"In France, Germany, and Italy, we are already working with traders to register their products on this platform and TikTok Shop will be available to TikTok users starting next Monday," JanACK, UK's TikTok Shop Operations Chief, said in an interview with Reuters.

Wilma hopes that the launch of TikTok Shop in France, Germany, and Italy can bring more customers, given that the s-commerce online shopping model is still very new, saag launched in the UK four years ago.

"My own hope for Europe is launching it at a speed higher than we did in the UK, because in England four years ago this model was still very new, we had to do a lot of education, we had to try a lot to get the best of it." he hoped.

He also confirmed major supermarkets like Carrefour will join TikTok Shop in France, while retailers like AboutYou and cosmetic brand Cosnova will also start selling on German platforms.
