Previously, the Indonesian Law Enforcement Supervisory and Escort Agency (LP3HI) reported Azis Syamsuddin to the DPR's MKD for allegedly violating the council's code of ethics.

The complaint was based on a meeting between the Mayor of Tanjungbalai as the person being investigated and the KPK investigator at Azis' official residence.
