DPR Has Not Received The Surpres Of The National Police Bill, Draft Circulating On Unofficial Social Media
Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, emphasized that her institution has not yet received a Presidential Letter (Surpres) regarding the Draft Law on Amendments to Law Number 2 of 2002 concerning the Indonesian National Police (RUU Polri).
"Surpres (RUU Polri), I emphasize that until now the leadership of the DPR has not been accepted," said Puan in her statement.
Puan also highlighted the draft of the National Police Bill and the problem inventory list (DIM) circulating on social media, stating that the document was not an official draft. He emphasized that without the official Surpres, the circulating drafts did not have legitimacy.
In addition, he ensured that the Surpres of the National Police Bill circulating in public was not an official document issued by President Prabowo Subianto.
"So, if there is a DIM circulating, it is not an official DIM," he said.
On the same occasion, Puan said that the DPR had just received a Surpres regarding the discussion of the Draft Law on the Criminal Procedure Code (RUU KUHAP). He revealed this in the closing of the second session of 2024 2025 on Tuesday (26/3/2025).
The Surpres received by the DPR has the number R19/Pres/03/2025 and is related to the appointment of a representative for the government to discuss the Criminal Procedure Code Bill. The Surpres will be followed up by Commission III of the DPR.

Puan added that the board's equipment that will discuss the Criminal Procedure Code Bill will be decided during the next trial. DPR RI is scheduled to enter a recess period from March 26 to April 16, 2025.
