Kulon Progo Police: Pandansimo-Trisk Bridge Can't Be Passed
KULON PROGO - Kulon Progo Police, Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY), ensured that the new Galur-Pandansimo Trisik bridge connecting Kulon Progo and Bantul could not be passed for homecoming flow and Lebaran 2025 reverse flow.
Kasatlantas Kulon Progo Police AKP Priya Tri Handaya said, based on the results of the trial, the new Trisik Galur - Pandansimo bridge could not be operated for vehicles to pass during homecoming and backflow.
"The results of coordination and trials with the technical department, the new Trisik Galur - Pandansimo bridge cannot be operated yet," said Priya in Kulon Progo, Antara, Monday, March 24.
The Kulon Progo Police have prepared a traffic scenario on the Southern Cross Road (JJLS) and national roads. These two routes will be passed by travelers even though they are not as busy as in the direction of Sleman.
"We are mainly preparing traffic engineering at the Tugu Brosot JJLS intersection, because usually there is a buildup there during the Eid holidays," he said.
Priya said that engineering at the Tugu Brosot intersection needs to be done considering that the vehicle will pass through the Srandakan 2 Bridge. Meanwhile, the current condition of the bridge is also unable to withstand the burden of many vehicles since the breakdown of the Progo River on the south side of the bridge.
In addition to the Srandakan Bridge area, the Kulon Progo Police Traffic Unit is also trying to minimize the accumulation of vehicles at the Glagah Bridge, including at Simpang YIA and Simpang Karangongko on national roads.
"Because at these points it is prone to congestion during the homecoming season and backflow," he said.
He estimates that the peak of the homecoming flow in the Kulon Progo area will occur on March 28 or coincide with Nyepi Day. Meanwhile, the density during holidays is predicted to occur during D+2 Lebaran.
"The peak of the homecoming flow occurred on Friday (28/3) before Nyepi celebration," he said.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Chief of Kulon Progo Police, Kompol Martinus Griavinto Sakti, said that the Kulon Progo Police had prepared Operation Ketupat Progo 2025 in securing the Lebaran homecoming. Kulon Progo Police deployed 306 personnel in this operation.
