Minister Of Agriculture Amran Ensures Bapok Prices Are Stable, Safe Stocks To Eid

DEPOK Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman ensured that food prices remained stable and their availability remained safe until Lebaran.

This event is an extraordinary collaboration that helps people to obtain food at affordable prices. With this kind of cooperation, we can ensure that food prices remain stable until Eid," he said as quoted from a written statement, Sunday, March 23.

He also said that the national food stock was in a safe condition, with rice reserves reaching 2.2 million tons.

In addition, he continued, the price of foodstuffs had increased, such as chilies, now it has returned to stability so that people do not need to worry about the price increase ahead of Eid.

Meanwhile, General Chairperson of Iluni UI Didit Ratam said that this bazaar presented two main programs, namely the distribution of 3,000 free food packages to UI class 1-2 employees, power transfer workers and the surrounding community.

Then provide 1,000 cheap food packages containing 1 kg beef, 1 liter of cooking oil, 1 kg of flour, and 2 kg of rice.

This cheap food package can be redeemed for IDR 100,000, from the original value of IDR 180,000, so it really helps people to get basic necessities at a more affordable price.

Previously, Minister of Agriculture Amran revealed that President Prabowo Subianto monitored food prices intensively, and even often contacted him several times a day to ensure the stability of basic commodities, especially rice and cooking oil.

"The president's directive, prices are asked to be stable, if necessary, go down. That's his request, and he monitored it directly. Once in one day, he called me three times to ask for prices. Last night he called, monitoring price developments, even the Deputy Minister of Agriculture (Sudaryono) was also called," he said while reviewing the operation of the cheap food market at PT Pos Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, Tuesday, March 18.

National food stocks, including rice and cooking oil, said Amran, are in abundant condition so that there is no reason for traders to raise prices.

"We make sure market operations continue to run so that prices remain stable and the community is not burdened," said Minister of Agriculture Amran.
