Empty Housekeeper Steals Employer's Valuables, Losses Reaches IDR 50 Million

South Jakarta Metro Police arrested one suspect in the theft of an empty house named Satria Pratama Alviandi (24) from Tangerang. The suspect is the guard of the house.

The suspect is listed as a resident of Pademangan, North Jakarta. Satria is the main suspect or single executor of the theft of goods in an empty house on Jalan Darmawangsa II, Melawai Village, Kebayoran Baru District, South Jakarta.

As a result of this incident, the victim who owns the house suffered a loss of Rp. 50 million. The perpetrator managed to steal two refrigerators, 3 outdoor air conditioning units, 2 indoor air conditioning units, 1 fan, 1 iron steward and 2 teak wooden doors.

"The suspect was arrested in the Menteng area, Central Jakarta, after receiving information from the public about the whereabouts of the perpetrators of the theft with weights in the Kebayoran Baru area," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the South Jakarta Metro Police, AKBP Ardian Satrio Utomo when confirmed, Sunday, March 23.

After that, the South Jakarta Metro Police opsnal team interrogated the suspect. The suspect admitted that all the stolen goods had been sold to a collector named Andre in the Cipete area, South Jakarta.

After the raid was carried out, it turned out that Andre was not in the rongsok stall. The perpetrator is said to have gone to his hometown in the Banyumas area, Central Java.

"The modus operandi used by the perpetrators was to enter the house and unload the items in the house. Then the goods were stolen by the perpetrators," he said.

The police also confiscated a carter knife and a kitchen knife belonging to the suspect during the arrest.

"So this suspect is a house guard who is trusted by the owner of the house. When there is an opportunity, the person concerned takes the items that are in his employer's house," he said.

Now the suspect is in the South Jakarta Metro Police prison cell. The suspect was charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft.
