Former KUA Tanah Abang Expresses Fear After Marrying Princess Rizieq Shihab

JAKARTA - Former Head of the Tanah Abang Religious Affairs Office (KUA), Sukana, said that he had a bad feeling and fear after marrying Rizieq Shihab's daughter on 14 November.

This confession was conveyed by Sukana when testifying in the case of alleged violation of the health protocol (prokes) for the defendant Rizieq Shihab and five former high-ranking Islamic Defenders Front (FPI).

It all started when Rizieq Shihab's lawyer, Aziz Yanuar, talked about the rules for holding marriages during the COVID-19 epidemic. Then, Sukana also outlined several conditions, one of which was that the prince had to leave the location of the wedding.

It was at this time, Sukana said that he felt a sense of fear. I don't know the reason, what is clear is that fear made him reluctant to leave the place where Rizieq Shihab's daughter had married him.

"There was a feeling in my heart that I was afraid to leave the place, because I saw the atmosphere and the crowds," said Sukana at the trial at the East Jakarta District Court, Monday, April 26.

Hearing this confession, Rizieq Shihab's attorney questioned the cause of the fear. In fact, it mentions the possibilities that give rise to this fear.

"Are the masses frightening or threatening?" Aziz asked

Sukana also denied any threats. The fear was from seeing so many masses. Because, in the rules of marriage during the pandemic, invited guests are very limited.

So that when he saw the crowds jostling, Sukana was afraid of what would happen later.

"There is indeed a fear from the heart as a human being," said Sukana.

In the alleged violation of the health protocol in Petamburan, Rizieq Shihab was charged with incitement to the appearance of a crowd at his daughter's wedding as well as commemorating the Prophet's birthday in Petamburan, Central Jakarta. This crowd is taking place in the midst of the COVID-19 Pandemic.

So that in this case, Rizieq was charged with violating Article 160 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 93 of Law Number 6 of 2018 concerning Health Quarantine in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code and or Article 82 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 59 paragraph 3 letters c and d Law Number 16 Year 2017 concerning Community Organization in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to 1 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 10 letter b of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 35 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
