Snorkeling Boat Transports Dozens Of Overturned Foreigners In Nusa Penida, One Australian Tourist Dies

KLUNGKUNG - The Sea Dragon 2 boat overturned in Kelingking Point Waters, in Nusa Penida District. One Australian tourist named Anna died.

"The victim who was evacuated using the Sea Dragon 1 snorkeling boat was declared dead named Anna, an Australian citizen who is currently the victim's body at Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar," said Head of Public Relations of the Klungkung Police, Iptu Agus Widiono, Friday, March 21.

The incident occurred on Friday (21/3) at around 08.30 WITA in Kelingking Point Waters, Bunga Mekar Village, Nusa Penida District, Klungkung.

This boat sailed to Manta Point Nusa Penida to carry out snorkeling activities.

In Kelingking waters, suddenly a big wave appeared hitting the boat. The boat overturned.

The captain and crew tried to save foreign passengers assisted by another snorkeling boat at the location.

"So that 10 victims can be evacuated to land at Kelingking Beach," added Iptu Agus.

One person named Gabriel Hijniakoff suffered a limp wound to his base skin.

Meanwhile, 8 other victims were evacuated by ax stone boat from Banjar Nyuh Harbor to Sanur Port, Denpasar.

"Meanwhile, one victim on behalf of Anna who was immediately evacuated from the crime scene to Sanur Harbor. When he was taken to Sanglah Hospital, Denpasar, he was finally declared dead," he said.
