7 Flights At Ngurah Rai Airport Canceled Impact Of Men's Lewotobi Mountain Eruption
I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Management, Bali, recorded that seven international flights were canceled due to the impact of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki in East Flores Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.
"The cancellation of the seven-plane flight, the average Australian Jetstar airline, the route is Australia-Bali or especially those who want to come here," said General Manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Ahmad Syaugi Shahab, Friday, May 21.
Ahmad Syaugi said this cancellation had started at 08.45 WITA until it was estimated at 15.00 WITA with the route affected by Melbourne on two flights, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for Jetstar airlines, as well as one Air Asia flight on the Kuala Lumpur route.
On domestic flights, until now I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport has not seen the flight cancellation, but the ash from the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki forced the postponement of the flight to Labuan Bajo served by Air Asia.
In addition, delays also occurred for five international flights, namely Singapore routes using Singapore Airlines, Bangkok with Thai Air Asia, Kuala Lumpur with Air Asia, and Brisbane and Melbourne with Virgin Airways airlines.
"From this BMKG until 3 o'clock but we are still updating it, it depends on the wind, if the wind moves again to the Bali area or we will not continue to monitor it, hopefully there will be no more cancellations," said Ahmad Syaugi.
His party saw that the impact of the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Pria this time was not as bad as before, so he ensured that I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport services would continue to operate properly.
"The cancellation of this flight was not as severe as during the previous eruption, far away, if at that time (the first eruption) it would be disturbing near the Bali area such as Lombok and Kupang, this is not," he said.
Passengers on the affected route are asked to actively follow the development of information and communicate with the airline, while airport managers will continue to coordinate with related elements.
